Adjuno try their hands at baking in aid of the Stroke Association

From 24th – 30th October it is “Give a Hand & Bake” week. This is all in aid of raising money for stroke survivors, whom of which 75% often lose the complete use of one of their hands and have to relearn everyday tasks with just one hand. Adjuno chose to support this charity in particular as so many of us have friends or family members who have been affected by stroke. And, what better way than for our colleagues to roll up their sleeves and try their skills at baking some tasty cakes for the office!

Therefore, our UK offices opted for Thursday 27th October as the day we would have our charity cake sale. It soon became clear that it was a popular choice of event as a surprising number of us spent Wednesday evening getting to work on our culinary masterpieces. Spurred on by a bit of healthy competition and photo sharing of our works-in progress across social media; it was our very own Adjuno ‘Bake-Off’ which coincided well with the ‘Great British Bake Off’ Final on TV.

Admittedly, there were some suspect looking cupcakes on the day, that perhaps could be questioned as to their ‘home-baked’ authenticity, due to an overly professional finish, but they were accepted nonetheless. It was for charity after all.

Naturally, we captured the results of our baking efforts for the world to see before we delved in to score our colleagues efforts.

We hope you enjoyed the pictures (and that they don’t make you too hungry!). We also, hope it inspires many others to support this worthy cause in order to give stroke survivors and their families the support and treatment they need.

We still have some cakes left, but once they are all gone we will report back on the total money we have raised – so watch this space!
